Can I get a grant for new equipment?
Sometimes, if a named scheme lists that kind of equipment and you have not already ordered it. Farmers in England should read the Farming Equipment and Technology Fund, and only while a window is open. A manufacturer might be looking at Made Smarter or an innovation brief. A generic 'equipment grant for any small business' does not exist.

Almost never. Retrospective costs are the first thing funders strike out. Get the rules, then the quote, then the decision, then the purchase.
