Is there a grant for a café or a shop in the UK?
There is no national grant that every café or shop can claim. What exists is local: a council shopfront fund, a high-street scheme, or a visitor-economy pot, and only while that round is open. Start with the postcode. A UK-wide innovation competition is usually the wrong shape for a refit or a new coffee machine.

What should I search?
The town, then hospitality or retail. Open the official page before you treat a catalogue row as money. Ask the council and the local growth hub what the national lists miss.
Is a shopfront grant the same as a business rates discount?
No. Rates relief is a tax reduction. A grant is money for a stated cost. They have different forms and different rules.

If you want the application written, the fee is fixed and shown before you pay: £450, £850, £1,450 or £2,200, set by the size of the award. Every Grant does not take a percentage of the grant, does not file the form, and is not part of GOV.UK. Confirm every scheme on the funder's own site.
