Is there a grant for a heat pump in the UK?

Yes, for many existing homes and some non-domestic buildings in England and Wales. The main route is the Boiler Upgrade Scheme. The grant is taken off the installer invoice. It is not cash sent to you after you buy a pump yourself. Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own schemes. Do not assume the English grant crosses the border.

Also asked as: heat pump grant · air source heat pump funding · grant to replace a boiler

Does it cover the whole cost?

No. It is a contribution. The rest is yours, or a finance agreement with the installer. Get the figure in writing before you commit.

What if I am in Scotland or Northern Ireland?

Use the scheme run by that nation. Search the place, not the English scheme name.

Every Grant does not take a percentage of the grant, does not file the form, and is not part of GOV.UK. Confirm every scheme on the funder's own site.
