Is there a grant to take on staff?
There is no permanent grant that pays a wage for every new hire. Some rounds pay an employer to recruit a young person who would otherwise struggle to start work. The Youth Jobs Grant is one of those, with its own conditions and a staged payment. An apprenticeship has its own funding rules through training, which is not the same cheque. Read the live scheme before you hire.

Does hiring first guarantee the grant?
No. If the scheme requires the job to start after you apply, hiring first can make you ineligible. The funder's dates win.
Is this the same as a recruitment agency rebate?
No. A commercial rebate is not a government grant. Do not describe it as one.
