What is match funding on a UK grant?

Match funding is the share of the project you pay yourself, or that another funder has already agreed. A grant that says 50% means the funder may pay half of the eligible costs, not half of your turnover. If you cannot show the other half, do not start the application.

Can another grant be the match?

Sometimes. Some funders refuse public money as match, and some allow it. The scheme guidance decides. Two grants for the same invoice is a common reason applications fail.

Is volunteer time match?

Only if that scheme says so, and only at the rate it publishes. Do not price your own time as cash unless the guidance allows it.

Where does Find Grants show this?

On the scheme page, under what you put in. That line is copied from the listing. Confirm the percentage on the funder's page before you spend.
