What Innovate UK grants are open?
Innovate UK does not run one permanent grant that is always open. It opens competitions, often for a few weeks, on the Innovation Funding Service. A competition can be UK-wide or limited to a place, and it can require a business, a research partner, or both. Every Grant lists the competitions it has read, with the deadline on the funder page. If a date has passed, treat the round as closed until a new one is published.

Is the Smart grant still a single scheme?
People still say Smart grant. Innovate UK now opens themed competitions. Read the competition brief, not an old blog that names a round from a previous year.
Can any small business apply?
No. Many rounds want a new product or process, a clear project plan, and match funding. A shop refit or a van is the wrong shape of project.
