What is a Knowledge Transfer Partnership?

A Knowledge Transfer Partnership puts an associate into a business to run a project with a university or research organisation. Innovate UK funds part of the cost. The business pays the rest. It is a joint project, not a cheque for general overheads. The knowledge base and the business both have to be eligible, and a round can close.

Can a business apply alone?

No. A KTP needs the business and a knowledge base. If you do not have a university or research partner, this is the wrong scheme.

Is the business or the university in the lead?

Read the current brief. Older rounds and newer rounds are not organised the same way. Every Grant does not guess which side leads a live round.

If you want the application written, the fee is fixed and shown before you pay: £450, £850, £1,450 or £2,200, set by the size of the award. Every Grant does not take a percentage of the grant, does not file the form, and is not part of GOV.UK. Confirm every scheme on the funder's own site.
