Who cannot get a business grant?

Nobody is eligible for every grant, and some applicants are eligible for none that are open this week. A firm outside the map, in the wrong trade, over the headcount, or already past the deadline is out. So is a cost that the scheme does not pay, and a project that has already been bought. Being a small business is not a qualification on its own.

Are new companies banned?

Not banned. Many schemes want accounts or a trading record, so a new firm fails those tests. A few competitions allow a young company. The brief says which.

What about households?

Household schemes such as a boiler grant or a Disabled Facilities Grant are not business grants. They have their own tests, usually about the property and the people who live there.
